Toumet Niha - Jezzine
Jouzour Loubnan announced on Friday, May 10, 2019, at the Jezzine Municipality hall, the completion of the Jezzine Reforestation Project.
Ensuring the sustainability of this project and conserving the trees planted is the most important mission. Thus, the Jezzine municipality has endorsed and owned the project and will protect and maintain it beyond the project’s financing. Also, the municipality, with Jouzour Loubnan’s assistance, will manage to declare Toumet Niha - Jezzine as an official Lebanese nature reserve.
Five public plantation campaigns took place between bringing together more than 300 volunteers, mainly from schools and clubs of the regions and Jouzour Loubnan supporters. The involvement of the local community was remarkable in this region, and the cooperation of the municipality was exceptional.
This project was executed in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture under the Agriculture and Rural Development Programme (ARDP) and was financed by the European Union and Jouzour Loubnan.
