EQUALITY, DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION POLICY
1. INTRODUCTION
Jouzour Loubnan Association recognizes the vital role of equality, diversity and inclusion in achieving its mission and creating a more just and sustainable future for Lebanon. This policy outlines our commitment to fostering a fair and inclusive environment for all individuals, regardless of their gender identity or expression.
This policy's purpose is to:
- Provide equality, fairness and respect for all our employment, whether temporary, part-time or full-time;
- Not unlawfully discriminate because of the Equality Act 2010 protected characteristics of:
o Age;
o disability;
o gender reassignment;
o marriage and civil partnership;
o pregnancy and maternity;
o race (including colour, nationality, and ethnic or national origin);
o religion or belief;
o sex;
o sexual orientation;
- Oppose and avoid all forms of unlawful discrimination. This includes in:
o pay and benefits;
o terms and conditions of employment;
o dealing with grievances and discipline;
o dismissal;
o redundancy
o leave for parents;
o requests for flexible working;
o selection for employment, promotion, training or other development opportunities.

- Gender-Sensitive Programming: Jouzour Loubnan integrates a gender-sensitive approach into all our restoration activities, ensuring that our projects consider the needs and interests of both men and women in affected communities. Jouzour Loubnan aims to empower women to participate in restoration efforts and benefit from the environmental and economic advantages of healthy forests and agroforestry sites.
- Safe and Respectful Workplace: Jouzour Loubnan is committed to providing a safe and respectful workplace for all individuals, free from harassment, bullying, and any form of discrimination.
3. Communication and Implementation:
This Policy will be communicated to all staff, volunteers, and partners of the association. Jouzour Loubnan will regularly review and update this policy to ensure it remains relevant and effective. Jouzour Loubnan will also develop an implementation plan with specific actions and timelines for achieving its equality, diversity and inclusion goals.
This Policy is integral part of the Model of Organization, Operation, Management and Control adopted by Jouzour Loubnan.
