Anti-corruption and anti-fraud policy
1. INTRODUCTION
Jouzour Loubnan is committed to its mission of restoring Lebanese woodlands and agricultural lands, recognizes the importance of upholding the highest ethical standards in all its activities. This Anti-Corruption and Anti-Fraud Policy outlines Jouzour Loubnan's commitment to preventing, detecting, fighting and addressing and fighting corruption and fraud within the organization.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all Jouzour Loubnan staff, volunteers, board members, partners, suppliers, clients and contractors. It covers all activities, whether conducted in Lebanon or abroad, including:
- Fundraising and financial management.
- Grant administration and project implementation.
- Procurement and contracting.
- Resource utilization and reporting.
- Product sales and purchases
- Any other activity involving Jouzour Loubnan funds, assets, or reputation.
3. Definitions
Corruption: The abuse of entrusted power for private gain. This includes bribery, extortion, embezzlement, nepotism, discrimination, preferential treatment and conflict of interest.
Fraud: Any act designed to deceive or deprive another of something valuable. This includes misrepresentation, falsification of documents, and theft.
4. Policy Statements
4.1. Zero Tolerance
Jouzour Loubnan has a zero-tolerance policy for corruption and fraud. Any suspected or confirmed wrongdoing will be promptly investigated and addressed with appropriate disciplinary action.
4.2. Prevention
Jouzour Loubnan will strive to prevent corruption and fraud through the following measures:
- Clear Policies and Procedures: Jouzour Loubnan will establish and communicate clear policies and procedures for all activities, particularly those involving financial transactions and procurement.
- Internal Controls: Jouzour Loubnan will implement internal controls to monitor and safeguard its resources, including internal audits and segregation of duties.
- Risk Assessment: Jouzour Loubnan will regularly assess its activities and identify areas susceptible to corruption and fraud.
- Training and Awareness: Jouzour Loubnan will provide training and awareness programs to all its personnel on their responsibilities under this policy and how to identify and report potential wrongdoing.
- Detection and Reporting: Jouzour Loubnan encourages all personnel to report any suspected or confirmed incidents of corruption or fraud. Reporting can be made anonymously through designated channels.
4.3. Direct Reporting
Personnel can report any suspected fraud or corruption:
- Directly to the President or the Vice President;

4.4. Investigation and Response
Jouzour Loubnan will promptly investigate all reported incidents of corruption or fraud. The investigation will be conducted by an independent and impartial entity. Based on the findings, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken. This may include:
- Termination of employment or engagement
- Legal action
- Recovery of stolen or misappropriated funds
- Public disclosure, if necessary
4.5. Transparency and Accountability
Jouzour Loubnan will maintain transparency in its anti-corruption and anti-fraud efforts. This includes:
- Disclosing any confirmed incidents of corruption or fraud in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Providing feedback to individuals who report suspected wrongdoing.
5. Revision and Review
This policy will be reviewed and updated periodically to reflect changes in Jouzour Loubnan's operations, relevant laws and regulations, and best practices in anti-corruption and anti-fraud.
